Neuroscientist and Buddhist practitioner Matthieu Ricard talks about his research into brain plasticity, showing a direct correlation between Buddhist meditation and sharp increases in activity in the region of the brain associated with happiness and well-being. Ricard was invited to Vancouver by co-sponsors Tung Lin Kok Yuen Canada Foundation Buddhism and Contemporary Society Lecture Series and the UBC College for Interdisciplinary Studies. This talk was given at a very full Ridge Theatre in March, 2007, and was one of four talks during Ricard's visit to Vancouver.
